Academy SC Jaguars tops among U13 Boys
- Updated: 18 June 2018

The Jaguars team from Academy Sports Club lifted the CIFA Boys U13 FA Cup on Saturday, 16 June, capping their 2018 season with another title to show for their hard work. The Jaguars also won the league title.
ASC Jaguars faced 345 FC in the FA Cup final at the CIFA Centre of Excellence. They dominated the ball for much of the first half but were made to work against a disciplined 345 FC defence.
Persistence paid off when Jaydon Whittaker scored in the 20th minute. Ty Goddard added another in the second half as ASC Jaguars held on for a 2-0 win.
“I’m very proud of them. We worked hard. We train multiple days per week and they come to training and they put the work in,” said coach Logan Seymour. “I’m there to help and support but really, it’s up to them to do what they do on the field. Today, they did exactly what I asked of them. So, I’m very happy.”
Whittaker acknowledged that they were able to celebrate after putting in the work at training all year long. “We had to put a lot of work into training and our fitness to reach to this. I think we deserved this because we worked hard at training and in the games.”
Another Jaguars player, Malcom Hill, also spoke of the joy of being part of the experience at training and during games. “It’s very fun to get the chemistry as you learn to play with your teammates. It is fun because we get to experience wins together as we try out best,” he said.
For 345 FC, a runners-up trophy was not a bad way to end an inaugural season in which it was competitive at both the U11 and U13 levels.
