All’s set for ‘bigger’ Big Game 9

Cayman defeated Mexico 39-17 in their last home game in 2017 and will look to replicate that success in front of their home supporters again.

A lot will be on the line on 9 June when the FFP Cayman Islands National Men’s XV Team hosts rivals Bermuda for Health City Cayman Big Game 9. With the withdrawal of Trinidad and Tobago from the Rugby Americas North regional qualifiers, this is a must win for the home team.

A win on Saturday at Truman Bodden Sports Complex will mean a playoff match at home in early 2019 against either Guyana or Mexico for the right to play in the 2019 Americas Rugby Challenge against Western Hemisphere powerhouses.

A 24-man team has been selected for the all-important game, including eight national team rookies. Shane Cusack, Jeffrey Robinson, Dave Stringer, Phil Parker, Killian Everard, Dylan Bostock, Iain Smith, and Barry John Goude all have a shot at making their debuts for the Cayman Islands senior side.
