Back in the water for CUC Sea Swim

Under perfect conditions, the annual CUC 800m Sea Swim took place Saturday, 12 January with 125 swimmers.
Swimmers participated in the loop course which started and ended at Governor’s Beach along the crystal clear waters of Seven Mile Beach.
Overall first, second and third place winners finished within seconds of each other providing an exciting finish for the crowds. In first place overall, Alex Dakers in 8:53, in second Liam Henry in 8:55 and third place in 8:57 was Jake Bailey. The top three female finishers were Elana Sinclair in 9:05, Raya Embury-Brown in 9:08 and Jillian Crooks in 9:24. Click here for full results
“The CUC Swim is a great way to start your new year’s resolutions for keeping active in 2019 – thank you to CUC for sponsoring the 30th Annual CUC 800m Sea Swim; and thank you too to all our swimmers who came out to take part,” said CIASA Race Director Duke Sullivan.
The CUC 800m Sea Swim is a great introduction race for swimmers of all ages who have not participated before. There is also an option, for children aged 12 and under participate in a 400m sea swim, by completing half the course. The top three in each category received a trophy and all participants received a generous goodie bag from CUC, including a t-shirt, swim cap, baseball cap, swim towel and swim bag.
The Cayman Islands Aquatic Sports Association (CIASA) is a volunteer, not for profit association
dedicated to furthering the interests of all aquatic sports in the Cayman Islands. CIASA is the
recognised Governing Body of aquatic sports in the Cayman Islands and is a member of FINA, UANA,
CCCAN and the CIOC.
