- Updated: 10 July 2018

One of Cayman’s most promising swimming prospects, John Bodden, has given a verbal commitment to swim for McKendree University in Illinois, United States.
Bodden, a member of Stingray Swim Club, has represented the Cayman Islands at the CARIFTA Swimming Championships on multiple occasions with podium finishes and has also competed at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games.
He is expected to join the team in the fall. “I am so ready and excited to swim for McKendree University. Coach Tierney and the team are so awesome and I can’t wait to race for the Bearcats,” Bodden told Swimming World Magazine.
He has been one of the dominant open water swimmer locally for the past couple of years.
Bodden joins another local swimmer, Cole Morgan, at the school.
