- Updated: 5 September 2018

The Cayman Islands was tied for 63rd after the opening round of the Eisenhower Trophy at the 31st World Amateur Team Championships in Ireland on 5 September.
Representing the islands at the tournament are Justin Hastings, Aaron Jarvis, and Payten Wight. They are competing against golfers from 67 other countries, including defending champions Australia.
Atop the leaderboard after Wednesday’s play was Denmark with a combined total of 132 strokes (-12). The hosts were two strokes back with India and Switzerland tied for third another stroke adrift.
Cayman’s stroke tally at the Carlton House’s O’Meara course was 157 (+11), which say them level with Guam. Teenagers Justin Hastings (78) and Aaron Jarvis (79) had the better rounds. Payten Wight shot 82. The top two scores counted to the team total.
The tournament continues until Saturday.
