CI Netball gets new TD in Jamaican Maureen Hall
- Updated: 8 November 2017

The Cayman Islands Netball Association has a new technical director. She is experienced coach Maureen Hall of Jamaica, who previously served in a similar capacity in her homeland.
Hall arrived in Grand Cayman last week and was on hand to witness junior and adult players competing in the opening rally of the 2017 season at the new John Gray High School gymnasium on Saturday, 4 November.
The new technical director replaces Violet Murray-Corbin, who left in July after coaching the national team in home series against Canada.
Involved in netball for over 30 years, Hall represented Jamaica from 1980 – 1986, and participated as a player at the World Netball Tournament in Singapore in 1983. She coached Jamaica from 1989 – 2003, including at the 1991, 1995, 1999, and 2003 World Championships.
The long-time coach is credited with taking Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls to number three in the world in 1991. She begins her stint in the Cayman Islands where she made her first appearance as Jamaica’s coach in 1988.
She is a member of the International Netball Federation’s Coaching Advisory Panel (CAP), which works to develop the standard of netball coaches worldwide.
CaymanSportsBuzz.com will have more on Hall’s appointment and her plans in the coming days.
