Ebanks among NBL players of the week
- Updated: 2 March 2018

Cayman Islands national captain Jorge Ebanks has been named as one of the NBL Division 1 players of the week for his standout performance for Worthing Thunder in the British league.
Ebanks scored 27 points, while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing five assists in the Thunder’s 106-75 win over Lancashire Spinners on 25 February. He also had four steals in the game.
“It was so good to get that game out of the way,” Ebanks said after the game against the winless Spinners, who sit at the bottom of the league.
“That type of game is always difficult because it’s all about your team. Do you play down to their level or do you play up to yours? But we played professionally as a unit and we’re glad we got the win.”
Ebanks and teammate Zaire Taylor were among four players named as NBL Division 1 Players of the Week.
Worthing Thunder are third in the standings with an 11-5 record. They host Manchester Magic in their next game on 3 March.
Ebanks is second in the NBL Division 1 in steals with 2.88 picks per contest and eighth with 4.76 assists per game.
