Football filled week ahead

Bodden Town FC vs Elite SC headline FA Cup matches this weekend.

The draw for the quarter-final matchups of CIFA’s senior men’s FA Cup have been drawn for the round of games that begins this weekend.

The first match-up features two of the top teams in the Cayman Premier League squaring off against the Annex on Sunday, 4 June. League champions Bodden Town FC meets the 2015/16 FA Cup holders, Elite Sports Club, for a 4:45 p.m. kickoff.

In the second game of the evening, Academy Sports Club comes up against CIFA First Division opponents, Future SC at 7:00 p.m.

In other match-ups, Scholars will play Cayman Brac FC and Cayman Athletic plays Sunset FC. The dates for those games have yet to be finalised because Sunset FC and Cayman Brac FC have already been slated to play in the CIFA Playoff on Saturday, 3 June.

Sunset FC, which finished seventh in the top-tier league, will fight for a spot in the CPL next season against Cayman Brac FC, which is seeking promotion after finishing second in the CIFA First Division. The game is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m.

Midweek matchups on the CIFA schedule include Latinos FC vs. Scholars International at Ed Bush Sports Complex on 31 May starting at 7:30 p.m. At the same time, Savannah Tigers and Alliance FC meet at the Annex.

Also on Wednesday, Academy SC faces Elite SC in the CIFA U21 Men’s League in Bodden Town at 7:30 p.m.

Meantime, CIFA will crown FA Cup champions in the U11 Boys League when Sunset Rangers faces Savannah Tigers A at the Annex starting at 9:00 a.m.
