UPDATED STANDING ADDED

There are four teams who have yet to have the sour taste of defeat through four rounds of the 2018/19 Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Premier League.

Roma United, Elite Sports Club, Academy Sports Club, and defending champions – Scholars International all have a “zero” in the loss column and kept it that way with each of those teams registering shutouts on 24 and 25 November.

However, it is Elite SC and Scholars who lead the pack with 10 points with Elite holding the lead due to superior goal difference in the early going of the season.

Elite picked up their third win in four games this season with a 3-0 win over North Side at Ed Bush Sports Complex Sunday evening. Dwayne Wright (45’), Shakur Silburn (48’) and Christopher Reeves (80’) were the scorers.

Scholars also picked up their third win via a similar score line against George Town SC at the Annex. Goals came courtesy Edroy Williams (56’), Rodrick Pearson (75’) and Raul Rodriguez (77’).

Latinos FC moved into third place with nine points due to a 3-1 win over Cayman Athletic. Darvin Dixon scored twice for Latinos, with Nahun Rodriguez adding the other goal. David Connolly found the back of the net for Cayman Athletic.

Academy Sports Club have yet to taste defeat in the league this season and are fourth in the standings after a pair of draws and as many wins. Their latest W came from a lopsided result against Alliance FC. When the final whistle blew, it was Academy 12, Alliance 0. Academy’s goal rush saw three players picking up hat-tricks: Romario Dixon, and brothers Jonah and Trey Ebanks.

Roma United edged past Future with a 1-0 win for their second of the season to go with a couple of draws. Dexter Munroe scored in the 6th minute. Roma are now fifth in the table.  Future are now seventh, rounding out the top half of the table.

Bodden Town FC sit sixth in the table after a comfortable 6-2 win against East End at Haig Bodden Sports Complex Sunday night. National team forward Michael Martin had a scoring frenzy with four goals. East End’s Casey McLaughlin scored twice against his former club.

In the weekend’s other game, Sunset FC beat Tigers FC 3-2 to pick up their first win of the campaign. Scorers for Sunset were Tom Chipchase (20’), Paul Hennessy (47’) and Timothy Womack (59’). Tigers’ goals came via Kank Bennett (PK 39’) and Malik Varona (84’).
