Hot action in beach volleyball league
- Updated: 15 February 2017

This past Sunday, 12 February, Public Beach hosted yet another action-packed afternoon as the second week of the CIVF Sunday Beach League got underway.
Division A scored a classic battle between two dominate teams Balls in Yo Face and Friends Circle, culminating in a best of five series where Balls in Yo Face took the 3-0 win (21-19, 21-19, 21-15).
The competition was heated in the B Division as teams battled it out to earn a spot in the semifinals. Notorious DIG, Sandy’s Angels, Just Da Tip, and The Ultimates proved their worthiness by finishing on top of the regular pool play for the second week in a row. In the semifinals, The Ultimates barely beat Just Da Tip 21-19, meanwhile Notorious DIG pummeled Sandy’s Angels 21-7.
Unfortunately, Notorious DIG couldn’t maintain their momentum going into the finals, and The Ultimates clinched 1st place, defeating them 21-15. Kiss Our Aces was relegated to Division C for next week.
In the C Division, the regular pool play separated the best from the rest. CIS, Poppin Volleys, Is It In, and Dat Ace Though emerged as the best four teams. With a 3-0 record, both CIS and Poppin Volleys were confident going into the semifinals. Poppin Volleys’ confidence faded fast and they were annihilated by Dat Ace Though 21-15. CIS on the other hand remained calm and collected, which allowed them to crush their opponents, Is It in, 21-11 advancing them to the finals.
CIS and Dat Ace Though faced off for the second time that day, but this time around the pressure of winning the Coronas was on. CIS did not seem fazed in the slightest as they had already defeated Dat Ace Though 21-18 in regular pool play. CIS withstood the pressure beating their opponents 21-15, and ending their afternoon with the coveted Coronas in hand and advanced to Division B next week.
