Jarvis 10th at Optimist International Junior Golf Championships
- Updated: 1 August 2019

Cayman Islands golfer Aaron Jarvis finished 10thin his age group at the 2019 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships, which wrapped up on 31 July.
Jarvis was one of 135 golfers in the Boys 16-18 Division for the tournament contested at the PGA-level Blue Monster course in Doral, Florida.
He was tied for fourth heading into the final round after rounds of 70, 73 and 74, placing him five strokes off the top of the leaderboard with a two-over par 217 total. His 77 in the final round pushed him down the standings to finish at seven-over 294, within eight strokes of the winner, Angel Gurrera.

A top 10 placing is a remarkable finish at one of the largest and best-known junior golf tournaments in the world.
This wraps up a solid month of golf for Jarvis, who was third among 18 and Under Boys at the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships that concluded in Bahamas a few days before. Earlier in the month, he was part of the men’s team that finished third at the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in the Dominican Republic.
