Leaders gain separation in CIFA Premier League
- Updated: 13 March 2018

There were draws in half of the Week 13 fixtures of the 1017/18 CIFA Men’s Premier League, with Scholars International picking up an important win in its quest to take the title.
At Ed Bush Sports Complex on Sunday night (11 March), Scholars rallied from a goal down and scored twice within a five-minute stretch to keep their undefeated record intact and maintain their spot at the summit of the standings.
Tom Chipchase gave Sunset FC the lead in the 28th minute, which they held through the break. Dwight Dunk equalised in the 63rd minute before Rolly Bodden put Scholars ahead in the 68th minute – a lead they would not surrender.
Meantime, second-placed Roma United beat Academy Sports Club 3-0 in the earlier game to stay within three points of the leaders. Dexter Monroe had two goals in quick succession (11’ 12’) before Demar James added a third (55’) in the second half.
Scholars are now in pole position to take the title. They are three points clear of Roma United with a game in hand as the teams near the finish line of the season that sees them play 13 league matches. A win or draw against Academy SC on Saturday, 17 March, will give them an unassailable lead over Roma United, who are not scheduled to play their solitary remaining game until 8 April.
