New boxing role for Peart
- Updated: 13 September 2016

Michael ‘Bobby’ Peart is no stranger to laying down the law. Whether during his regular job as an officer of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service or standing in the ring as a boxing referee, it has become part of his being to ensure the rule are followed.
His boxing-related tasks have taken another progressive step, as he has been named Head of Officiating with the Cayman Islands Boxing Association.
“Bobby will be tasked with growing our current pool of referees and judges and developing the skills of our officials with the ultimate aim of Cayman becoming a regional leader and a centre of excellence for amateur boxing officiating,” the association posted on its Facebook page.
Peart is a regular presence inside the ring, refereeing multiple matches on the past two of the association’s fight nights at the Lions Centre, even stepping between the ropes with his gloves on last October for an exhibition against Bodden Town MLA Alva Suckoo.
