NORCECA beach volleyball returns

Grand Cayman will once again be a host country for the 2017 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour from 21-23 April. This tournament consistently attracts elite athletes from over 16 countries.

Last year spectators were blown away when one of Cayman’s two female teams, consisting of Jessica Wolfenden and Stefania Gandolfi, performed phenomenally well and made it to the bronze medal match; finishing in 4th place overall and beating out dominating teams like USA and Canada in an Olympic year.

“We are excited to see what will happen this year with the return of 15 year-old rising star Marissa Harrison on the women’s side and a fresh batch of rookies joining the men’s team,” said a Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation representative.

Organisers say the stands will hold hundreds of supporters and the VIP area will be extended to accommodate further ticketed seating for viewing of the main court in comfort and style.

Covered stand seating is only $5 and includes free entry to a raffle draw with some incredible prizes up for grabs. VIP tickets are for sale for Saturday and Sunday only at $25; VIP tickets include all you can drink, plus snacks. Those tickets sold out last year, so organisers encourage you to move fast to secure your spot. Tickets are available from the Epic Day Office in the Strand or the connected castaway app from 1 April.
