Ready to sail!
- Updated: 1 August 2019

Jesse Jackson, the Cayman Islands lone sailor at the 2019 Pan American Games currently underway in Peru, has arrived in the South American country and is ready for the challenge of competition.
Jackson, accompanied by coach Raphael Harvey, made their way this week to the sailing venue in Paracas, approximately four hours south of the Athletes Village in Lima. He spoke to his coach about his preparations in the video below.
The five-day laser standard competition begins on 3 August.
Jackson is one of six athletes representing the Cayman Islands at the Games. Gymnast Raegan Rutty has completed competition in gymnastics; Kemar Hyman (100m) will go under the starter’s gun in athletics; and swimmers Lauren Hew, John Bodden and 2011 200m freestyle gold medallist Brett Fraser are also competing in Lima.
