Reid takes gold at Champs
- Updated: 22 March 2018

Cayman Islands long jumper Lamar Reid won gold in the class two boys event for Calabar High School at the 2018 Inter-secondary School Sports Association/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships in Jamaica on 21 March.
Competing among boys 14-15, Reid and schoolmate Jordan Turner both jumped 7.23m. However, Reid took gold due to his unblemished performance and Turner took silver.
Reid one of 30 athletes set to represent the Cayman Islands at the Flow CARIFTA Games in the Bahamas from 31 March to 2 April. He’ll compete in the U20 Boys long jump and would be buoyed by his performance against top competition from the Caribbean’s dominant track and field country.
Coming later: CaymanSportsBuzz.com will have a wrap of performances of Cayman Islands athletes competing for their high schools in Jamaica.
