Scholars International wins Masters Rally
- Updated: 3 July 2019

The reigning Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Masters League champions, Scholars International, have showed they are the team to beat going into this summer’s season.
Scholars earned another piece of hardware on Sunday, 30 June, by winning the 2019 pre-season rally at Ed Bush Sports Club.
The storied West Bay club found themselves top of the heap after two weekends of action, beating Sunset Football Club 3-0 in the final behind goals from Antonio Smith, Chris Brown and Guiton Smith.
Earlier, Scholars beat Soweto Masters in the semi-finals but needed a penalty shootout to do so after two scoreless halves. Meantime. Sunset advanced after beating Elite Sports Club 1-0.
Soweto Masters took the third spot with a 1-0 win over Elite in the playoff.
The 2019 season begins in earnest on Sunday, 7 July, with three games on the schedule. Sunset and George Town Sports Club meet at Ed Bush at 5:00pm, followed by Scholars opening their defence versus RCIPS at 7:00pm. At the Annex, Soweto Masters and Elite Sports Club meet again at 5:00pm.
