Stafford, Bridgeman are squash champs

Cameron Stafford and Eilidh Bridgeman are the toast of the local squash community after winning the men’s and women’s open divisions of the 2017 Scott’s Equipment National Squash Championships last weekend.
Stafford claimed his third national title in a competitive final against Julian Jervis Saturday night (3 June) at the South Sound Squash Club. The score was 11-8, 11-8, 11-7.
In the women’s final, Bridgeman, who like Stafford was a top seed, defeated second ranked Samantha Hennings in a tough five-game match – 14-16, 11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 12-10.
