Youth roller hockey titles up for grabs

The Kings Sports Centre Youth Roller Hockey League kicked off last month and with three games under their belts for the 8U and 14U divisions and four games for the 10U division, all league titles are still up for grabs.

In the 8U league, Deloitte hasn’t lost a game and heads the league table with six points.  KPMG also looks strong in second place with four points – two wins and a loss.  While Silver Wheaton and Harbour Heat are trailing after two games, Harbour’s Christian Goulden and Silver Wheaton’s Griff McDonald lead the points table, each with 9 goals and 2 assists.  The early standings don’t always reflect the final outcome of the season, especially with the younger players, so keep an eye on the underdogs in this division!

The player draw for the 10U division appears to have been perfectly orchestrated with an even two wins and two losses across the board for all three teams: CIBC, Bovell/Remax and PWC.  Ethan Ellis, CIBC, is the top scorer for the 10Us with 12 goals and 2 assists.  Bovell players, Nathan Suitor and Tommy Ibister, and PWC players Christian Goulden and Cian Anderson, round out the top 5 points earners.

All four teams in the combined 12U/14U division are playing well with one win separating the 2-1 Islanders from the pack.  The EY Rangers and the Lightning are tied for second, trailing by only one point running 1-1-1 for the season.  The Dart Ducks are still in it with a win and two losses, only one point behind after the first three games.  Lightning’s scoring machine, 9-year old Jaxon Cover, leads in points in this division with 10 goals and 4 assists, followed by Noah Booker, Tommy Kehoe, Justin Hastings and Jayden Mannisto.
