All Stars undefeated through five games

All Stars ‘A’ won their fifth game in a row to open the Cayman Islands Netball Association’s 2016-17 Women Open League and are the only unbeaten team remaining.

All Stars ‘A’ got past Rising Stars ‘B’ in a close contest last Saturday, 4 February, edging them 31-28. Two days earlier, they trounced All Stars ‘B’ 54-20.

Through five games, All Stars ‘A’ have been dominant, scoring 296 points, while only allowing 83 to be scored on them. With a record of five wins and no losses, the team sits on 25 points at the top of the standings, four points ahead of Rising Stars ‘A’.

The second-placed team won comfortably against the National Under-16 team by a margin of 72-11 on Saturday. They have four wins and one loss so far in the league.

Socialites sport a similar record, winning their last outing 28-19 over Rising Stars ‘B’. Blue Diamonds are fourth. In their last game, they beat Unity Flames 49-12 on Saturday.

Meantime, the Under-14 and Under-12 leagues are also in full swing with seven and four teams respectively.

All Stars U14 and Titans won the first round of games. All Stars U14 easily defeated Sky Angels ‘A’ 21-3, while Titans edged Sky Angels ‘B’ 6-4.

Golden Strikers ‘A’ are the early leaders in the Under-12 League. They are undefeated through three games, with All Stars U12 in second place after winning their first two games. Other teams in the league are Rising Stars, Blazing Divas ‘A’. Blazing Divas ‘B’, Golden Strikers ‘B’ and Breakers NC.
