CNB leads indoor volleyball standings

Cayman National Bank defeated KPMG in the latest round of games to lead the Camana Bay Corporate Volleyball Co-Ed League standings after two weeks. Maples FS, Deloitte, and Maples & Calder were other winners on 8 March.

Results:

Maples FS d. PwC 25-17 & 27-25

Karlie Cross was the top scorer for MaplesFS putting away 6 kills in the winning effort. Amanda Wong also served up three clutch service aces in the second set to pull MaplesFS from down 22-24 to take the lead. For PWC it was Gustavo Mota anchoring the attack and defense with several digs and kills, but it just wasn’t enough.

Deloitte d. Dart 25-16 & 25-3

Deloitte had a full team effort to secure the win this week against Dart, winning 25-16 and the 25-3 in the second set. It was a tough night for the Dart team as they would lose to some tough serving from Deloitte. This team will need to regroup and make the most of practice days in the coming week.

Cayman National Bank’s Matthew Powell had 5 kills to lead the team, while Woodley Scott served up 4 service aces and one kill, and John Lewis added a service ace and three kills. Davison Ruwende was the key player for KPMG and scored 6 kills and a dig in the losing effort.

Maples & Calder’s lead scorer was Steve Ashworth with 3 service aces and 2 kills while David Taylor added support with 2 kills. Silver Wheaton’s youngster Jahmar Dawkins had 3 kills, 2 digs and a block kill in the losing effort.
