Cayman’s golfers off to defend Caribbean title
- Updated: 30 June 2019

A team of nine golfers left Saturday, 29 June, to represent the Cayman Islands at the 2019 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in the Dominican Republic.
The Cayman Islands are the reigning champions in the men’s Hoerman Cup, winning in dramatic fashion last year on home soil and will look to defend their title. The team is comprised of Barry Daly, Justin Hastings, Aaron Jarvis, Andrew Jarvis, Cameron Leitch, and Payten Wight.
After a sixth-place finish in the race for the George Teal Trophy last year, the women’s team will look for an improved showing for 2019. The team is Holy McLean, Lauren Needham, and Emily Ribbins.
The competition runs 30 June to 6 July at the Links Golf Course in Casa de Campo.
