Pearl shines for CMU Eagles
- Updated: 22 March 2018

The Cayman Islands’ Pearl Morgan was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for her efforts for Central Methodist University at the CMU Open this past weekend.
Morgan led the Eagles to an opening victory at home to start of the 2018 outdoor season. She earned a second-place finish in both the 200m (26.38) and 400m (1:00.73)
“Pearl competed well despite the cold and windy conditions. She helped us get our outdoor season started on the right foot with a victory in our first meet,” said CMU head coach Mark Nelson in a posting on the school’s website.
The 200m event featured 19 other athletes, including schools that compete in NCAA Division I and Division II competition.
Morgan and the women’s outdoor track and field team will return to action on 31 March, when they travel to Baldwin City, Kan. on the campus of Baker University to compete in the Baker Relays.
