Cayman Islands national team member Aaron Jarvis finished tied for a commendable 11th place in a field of 88 golfers at the 42nd Junior North & South Amateur Championship at Pinehurst, North Carolina earlier this month.
Jarvis finished the three-round tournament (6-8 July) at two over par with a stroke total of 216, level with William Love of Georgia. He was nine strokes back of the winner, Jonathan Griz of South Carolina.
He opened with his best round of 71, shooting par or better on 13 holes, including five birdies. Day 2 saw him go for 72 with par or better on 14 holes with a pair of birdies. He shot 73 in the final round with three birdies.
Pinehurst is one of the more notable golf courses, having hosted more championships than any other club in the United States since 1898 and is set to host the 2024 US Open.
