Deloitte holds on to slim lead

Deloitte survived a strong challenge from former leaders Cayman National Bank to maintain their position atop the standings of the Camana Bay Corporate Volleyball Co-Ed League after four weeks. Maples and Calder, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Maples FS were other winners on 22 March at the Arts and Recreation Centre.

M&C d. DART 25-18 23-25 15-5
Maples & Calder had to fight back to defeat DART in three sets. For Maples & Calder, Steve Ashworth recorded 2 service aces and 2 kills for the night, and Manuel Borden managed to take 1 service ace, 1 kill, and 3 defensive digs.
D&T d. CNB 25-23 25-21
Deloitte maintained the momentum and took down CNB in two sets, although CNB proved to be a strong contender by keeping the scores close. CNB’s standout players were Eric Webster who got 3 kills; Quentin Mendez made 1 service ace and 1 kill. Abolyn Howell got 1 service ace and 1 kill. For D & T Alex Verraault got 1 service ace, 2 kills, 2 block kills and Cory Brown got 2 kills.
PWC d. KPMG 25-14 14-25 15-12
PWC took control early in the first set winning easily over KPMG, and the tables turned in the second when KPMG surged in the second. The deciding set was close, but PWC stayed focused and won in a close spread. No stats recorded.
MFS d. SLV 25-13 25-17
Maples FS easily defeated Silver Wheaton in to sets with an impressive point differential. David Bakker again impressed with 4 service aces, 4 kills, and 1 block kill. Karlie Cross stood out with 1 service ace and an impressive 8 kills. Renald Durand made some points with 1 service ace and 3 kills. SLV Luke Lapoint got 3 service aces. Joshua Smith got 2 service aces, 1 kill and 1 block kill. Jahmar Dawkins also got on the board again with 2 service aces, 1 kill and 1 block kill.
Games are played Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the ARC. Here’s this week’s schedule:
